This is the ‘must have’ model of the season, the new Prestige 460 Flybridge. Integrating the flybridge range, and demonstrating the immense, continuous and enlarged hull glazing, this model reinvents life on board 42 footers. Combining the world class Garroni Design and JP Concepts has produced unequalled comfort and space, with the dual Volvo engines providing exceptional manoeuverability and performance.
Following the natural progression from the previous Prestige 450, this model has evolved with hardly a single area being left untouched. Improvements have been made with a focus on either size or functionality, and in most cases both. With more room available and increased functionality, it can be seen that features from the design of Prestige’s bigger boats have been enlisted in the Prestige 460.
Recognisable traits common to the unique Prestige brand remain, such as the appearance of one long window from forward hull to master, created by the black gel work. Further comfort has been added with the dipping of the salon windows allowing for better line of sight to the horizon from the salon’s seated position.
A few of the notable improvements include an enlarged stern platform with outdoor BBQ, large L-shaped settee in starboard quarter of the cockpit, Teak decking on the aft deck, the Lazarette storage is easily accessed from the end of the bench seat, and two chaise lounge pads with adjustable leg supports on the bow. Increased natural light is provided in the stateroom through the lengthy overhead skylights. The new single companionway access to the main deck now allows for a full-beam master stateroom that occupies nearly 60% of the lower deck.
The Prestige 460 propulsion system offers many features and benefits. With the renowned Volvo Penta IPS system and joystick, manoeuverability in and out of berthing has been made significantly easier. Additionally, engineering advances provide for 30% increased durability and reliability, which translates into an equal saving in maintenance costs and much greater fuel efficiency. The smoother running engine with its more efficient injection system has increased the power output of the engines.
The new design includes many modifications, including the large and comfortable L-shaped cockpit seating, wide cockpit door allowing easy movement between inside and outside, expanded living space, multi-featured and spacious flybridge, easier tender access to the water and handling with the large hydraulic platform, and innovative sun loungers on the foredeck sunpad.
Further levels of comfort and pleasure have been added with the new steering wheel at the interior helm station, reading lights in the staterooms, exterior Glacier cushions, additional USB plug on each side of the master stateroom bed, 360 degree vision with the larger windows, and a new interior helm console. The aft galley is centrally located, there is an option for a fully equipped crew cabin, and Garmin electronic package, main deck protective covers, cockpit seating and table covers, additional stainless steel cleats on transom for spring lines, windlass control and chain counter at helm station, and starboard side electric opening windows.

Blister
The use of a specific barrier coat resin minimizes hull blistering caused by hydrolysis. With this formula and expertise Jeanneau is now able to provide a five-year warranty against this occurrence.
Through the confidence associated with their many years of naval design expertise and industry knowledge, Jeanneau is now able to offer a warranty on the structure of their new boats against manufacturing defects on the hull and deck, as recognized by technical services, for seven years.
