High Quality Boat Training in Exquisite Surroundings

Burton Waters has partnered with Nautical Training Ltd to bring you ‘Nautical Training at Burton Waters’, an onsite RYA Training centre headed up by Nick & Tim. With over 220 nautical miles of navigable inland waters including the tidal sections of the Trent & Ouse and onto the Humber on our doorstep we felt this was a worthwhile partnership. The Wash and North Sea are accessible from our marina opening up coastal possibilities for training and flotilla trips that are provided.

Our RYA recognised training centre can provide tuition on and off the water and will style courses to your abilities and requirements, whether RYA certificated, or for example, you’ve recently changed your boat and require some assistance or wanting to build confidence before or further on from a course. We are always available to speak to and offer advice before and onwards after your training. Training is available on one of our centre boats or on your own craft which we recommend to give hands on experience of your particular vessel.

Overview of Courses

Nautical Training was formed in January 2023 by Nick and Tim. We are both very experienced boaters and Instructors.

Nautical Training Ltd is a trusted provider of commercial First Aid training, accredited by Qualsafe and maritime training and RYA-accredited certification. We specialise in delivering structured, high-quality courses for individuals and organisations, helping participants develop essential boating skills and safety knowledge. Our commitment to professionalism, safety, and excellence sets us apart in the maritime training sector.

Training can be carried out on your own boat or on a centre boat. From Burton Waters we can access the Fossdyke, Witham and Trent navigations. The Wash can be navigated to via the River Witham; the North Sea via the tidal Trent and Humber as well as the River Ouse to Goole and York.

On The Water Courses – From Powerboat, to Inland Waterways, to Motor boats and PWCs (Jetski’s) taster days and skills days up to 6 people

Classroom Courses – From Navigation, VHF, Diesel Engine, First Aid and RADAR to Sea Survival, Advanced Diesel Engine maintenance and Outboard maintenance

Online Courses – Online RYA and NON-RYA Courses from Marine VHF Radio, Safe & Fun, PPR, CEVNI, Navigation courses and Marine Electronics.

HSE First Aid Courses – HSE First Aid at work (3 Day), Emergency FAW (1 day) and Paediatric First Aid plus many more.

Bespoke Training – You tell us what you want to practice on your boat or ours. Cruiser, narrow boat or powerboat we cater for all!

Assisted Passages – Do you need to do a trip in your boat but are not confident? Take us with you… an instructor at your side

Own Boat Training – Bespoke or RYA training on your own boat in your home area. Call us now to discuss.

Boat Deliveries – Let us delivery your boat for you. By road or water (size of trailer permitting)

Safety Boat Services – Dragon boat race, swim, sup race or just a safety boat for bridge surveys we can provide safety boat services.
