1963 Honeybee 28 Clyde Cruiser with a Volvo Penta D1 13-hp shaft drive diesel engine. The vessel was designed by A K Balfour and built by Hugh McLean & Sons in Scotland. This is a rare opportunity to purchase this vessel, which has been in the same loving ownership of the current owner for the last 33 years. The vessel offers 4 berths aboard, with 2 in the separate forward cabin and two in the saloon. The forward cabin can be separated by using the doors that cover the sea toilet. This is a truly lovely vessel and is ready to go after just being launched in April after being antifouled and vanished. The vessel is currently moored on her berth at Ipswich Beacon Marina.

Accommodation

Saloon

The saloon offers two sofa seating areas, which can also be used as berths. There is storage for the seating as well as behind the back desk and a little drink bar. The galley is port aft of the saloon with hot and cold water and a gas burner with a grill. The chart table is on the starboard aft side, with plenty of storage and access to the water strainer. The forward berth is a V configuration with an infill offering 2 berths. On the port side, between the saloon and the forward beth, there is a hanging area for clothes, as well as on the starboard side, a sea toilet with a fold-down wash basin. Folding the doors across the saloon entrance and forward berth allows you to shut off the head.

Engines

The engine was replaced in April 2021 with a new 13-HP Volvo Penta D1 diesel engine. The engine has done 180 hours and was serviced in October 2022. This is a significant upgrade to the boat.
