Burton Waters Marina is situated off the Fossdyke, the oldest canal in England, thought to have been built around AD 120 by the Romans. When you leave the marina basin, turn left to take yourself down into the Brayford Pool and enjoy the sites of the historical City of Lincoln. Travel through the Brayford and continue under the Glory Hole, to take in the City centre.
When you leave the marina and turn right, enjoy the open countryside and cruise all the way to Torksey Lock, where the Fossdyke meets the tidal River Trent. You can travel as far as Torksey Lock
Full day hire is 10.15am til 4pm. Take to the water and explore the beautiful Fossdyke River stopping off at any of the various pubs along the way. The majority or boaters bring a picnic, so that they have enough time to take in both routes.

Self-drive boat hire on the Fossdyke has a lot to offer for a family or friends fun experience. New to boating or an experienced boater will easily manage our lovely river cruisers, to help you get away from it all. Burton Waters will provide you with the tuition you need for a fun day out. Lifejackets, insurance and fuel is included in our prices, to make life simple. Please note however, there are no electric sockets on any of our boats.
