We offer a service to accompany customers on their boats where they may wish to bring a boat to or from Burton Waters. The advantages of accompanied trips provides you with confidence and a knowledge of the characteristics of tidal waters; you will be trained on passage planning, charts required, reading of the tides and charts, tide tables and navigating the tidal rivers and sea.

'Cruise in Company' - Guided Flotillas
We also offer at times through the year, the chance to join a guided flotilla of boats to one of the marinas navigable to via the tidal rivers close to us at Burton Waters.
For those cruising on the tidal River Trent for the first time we suggest the passages to and from Newark. Instruction will include planning and how to use the tides for a safe passage. Experience the large locks at Cromwell and Newark. Overnight stop would be at one of the Newark marinas.
Those with a little more experience, learn how to work the tides and read the charts for a safe passage to Hull along the River Trent and Humber Estuary. For those making this interesting passage to Hull Marina you would meet the large sea going coasters on route and pass beneath the Humber Bridge.
Some of our destinations include Goole, Hull, Farndon and Newark marinas as well as trips to Wells-next-Sea. These trips are excellent for growing in confidence, being in a group of boats and boaters of all experiences. You will be guided through passage and tide planning as well as the operation and routines in the large locks of the Trent; journeys ensure all crews are shown safe and enjoyable cruising.
