Oyster launched the OM43 in 2009 for sailing yacht owners seeking a fast, elegant motor yacht without compromising craftsmanship. Drawing inspiration from classic pilot launches and post-war patrol boats, Oyster prioritised elegance, performance, and owner usability over mass production.
Twin Cummins 480hp diesel engines power the OM43, driving Hamilton water jets. This setup delivers impressive speed, excellent manoeuvrability, and a shallow draft of just 68cm. Handling remains effortless through conventional controls or intuitive mouse and joystick operation. The yacht reaches 30 knots and cruises comfortably at 22 knots.
Below deck, the OM43 offers four berths across two cabins. A generous saloon and cockpit sit on a single level, leading seamlessly to the helm. The interior also includes a linear galley and a well-appointed head with a separate shower. The layout promotes easy movement and a bright, open feel throughout.
With only four yachts ever built, the OM43 represents a truly rare British motor yacht. This example, Cora, has received meticulous care and remains in first-class condition. She is currently available through Burton Waters Boat Sales at our Ipswich office.
