Whether you like the high-speed intensity of riding on a RIB or if you prefer to take things a little slower on a cruiser or a yacht, there’s plenty of fun to have in the ‘On The Water Zone’. If you do prefer to stay on land, grab a chair and a drink in the waterfront restaurant and bar and enjoy the action.

Dinghy Zone

The Dinghy Zone demonstrates that there is a much larger world to boating than what people might think. With a friendly community to help you enjoy it with, the dinghy zone is the only place to see sports and sailing dinghies, trailer boats, cruisers, boat builders, high-performance equipment, sailing clubs, provide holiday outings and other training options all in one area at the Southampton Boat Show.

Whether you own a dinghy or rent one that suits your needs. The Southampton boat show exhibitors will help you by explaining and showing you the different types of dinghies, as well as the equipment that matches your needs and budget – which can be surprisingly low for novice cruisers. Kick-start the next outing afloat.

When your boating is done, grab a drink, kick back and mingle with your fellow sailors. On the foredeck stage in Mayflower Park. Hear the tales of adventure cruisers, collect racing tips from Dinghy sailors’ biggest names. Steering dinghies is a quick and easy skill to learn. Southampton Boat Show teamed up with the Royal Yachting Association (RYA). As the national body for all things boating, the RYA is your go-to for training at all levels. Whether you want to spend more quality downtime on the water travelling on your boat, competing in competitions or advancing your career, the RYA has a course for you. Go to the RYA in the Dinghy Zone and have a chat with the experts.

Classic and Day Boat Zone

Varnished wooden decks, shiny sleek hulls, weathered coloured sails on gaff rigs and traditional brass fittings, many people have always loved the classic boats featured at the Southampton boat show. With a collection of beautiful crafts and things to learn, see and experience, the Classic and Day Boat Zone is a place to immerse yourself with a wide range of crafts, from modern boats inspired by traditional designs and craftsmanship to masterfully restored classics. This zone celebrates the boats and craftsmanship that has stood the test of time.
